Internet Research 11.0 – Sustainability, Participation, Action is the 11th annual conference of the Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR), an international association for students and scholars in any discipline in the field of of Internet studies.

Sustainability, Participation, Action will be October 21-23, 2010 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Sustainability, Participation, Action will provide a space for interdisciplinary researchers to reflect on, describe, interrogate, challenge, and stake new claims to various critical Internet issues, including:

  • Internet and an equal and balanced society
  • Internet as an arena for participation
  • Internet as a tool and arena for action
  • Internet and an informed knowledge society
  • Internet and a green society
  • Internet and e‐commerce, dematerialization and transportation
  • Internet and security, integrity and surveillance
  • Internet and a healthy society
  • Internet as an arena for cultural expressions, and source of a culture of its own.

The program chair is Torill Elvira Mortensen, Volda University College, Norway. The local organizing committee is comprised of Ann-Sofie Axelsson, Chalmers University of Technology and Ylva Hård af Segerstad, University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

The IR 11.0 organizing committee also includes Mia Consalvo, AoIR president, Alex Halavais, AoIR vice-president, Michael Zimmer, AoIR treasurer, Yuri Takhteyev and Holly Kruse, systems officers. The publishing liaison is Axel Bruns.

The hosting universities include Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg.
